How to make a move on someone you’ve met during an international trip

“I’m currently having an international trip with a group of people and I’ve met a woman in this group. Both of us are single,” says Nathan, “But how do I make a move on her?”

‘Making a move’ isn’t a grand gesture.

Don’t consider ‘making a move’ as something extremely serious. It’s not supposed to be a grand gesture. In fact, you could nudge attraction and chemistry along in various subtle ways.

Maybe you can compliment her in a different way, e.g., “I really like your eyeshadow. It shows off your fascinating mid-night blue eyes.” Alternatively, you may playfully place your hand on her arm for half a second while having a laugh together.

Remember that in any scenario where you would like to move to a place of chemistry and attraction, you must change the dynamic. As to the examples above, you don’t do anything big enough to warrant a rejection. Therefore, you can ask her to keep in touch with you after this international trip. For instance, you talk about another trip that you had previously and show her the photos from that trip on your phone (and these photos are on your Instagram or Facebook page). Now you are giving her the opportunity to say, “Oh. You have a very cool Instagram/Facebook page. I’m going to find you on Instagram/Facebook.” Then you will have a way to contact her after this international trip. If she doesn’t say that, you can say, “Do you have Instagram/Facebook? I’m going to find you there now.”

Travel is a great way to find love because new locations shift your energy. Indeed, getting out of your usual environment will enable you to see people in a different light and help you ignite the spark. 😊

Can you handle a long-distance relationship?

If you date someone that you met during an international trip, chances are that person is from a different country, so you are in a long-distance relationship.

In this case, you have to know how to maintain a long-distance relationship in the right way. Apart from chatting with each other online every day, you have to build a shared vision for the future, i.e., someone has to move countries in order to make this relationship work.

“When you fall in love, you let your love life unfold in front of you organically.”
