Przemyśl – the tourist heart of eastern Poland.
Przemyśl is quite an important place for travellers because it’s easy to get to several countries like Poland, Ukraine, and Slovakia from here. It’s right in the middle of Eastern Europe, so it’s a central spot for exploring the region. Plus, it has a lot of historic buildings to visit, like castles and churches. You can learn a lot about history by checking out the museums and landmarks in Przemyśl. Thanks to its location, Przemysl is very well connected with numerous places in Poland and Ukraine.
The city is full of monuments, churches, and old townhouses; there is even a fortress and a castle. Przemyśl, a city of around 60 thousand inhabitants, is located in the southeast part of Poland. Over the centuries, Przemyśl was a multicultural place, with Poles, Jews, Germans, Czechs, Armenians, and Ruthenians living next to each other. Today, you can find remnants of the rich multicultural past in the city, especially in its temples.
Przemyśl has transformed into an important hub since the war broke out in Ukraine. This elegant little city is less than 10 miles from the Polish-Ukrainian border.
This city is also the largest crossing point in Poland and welcomes thousands of Ukrainian refugees every day. Its train station is a major intersection between Ukrainian and Polish cities, welcoming approximately 40,000 refugees every day.
Przemyśl is an important hub for international trains.
The most important thing is that Polish Przemyśl is an important hub for international trains and also has strategic importance as a border crossing for passenger transfers. You will also find daily direct connections to such cities in Ukraine such as Lviv and Kyiv. Intercity offers a well-connected network of rail links, helping connect Przemyśl to nearly all big Polish cities.
There are frequent trains to Kraków, Tarnów, Katowice, Warsaw, Gdańsk, Poznań, Rzeszów, and Wrocław.
What is the EIP train in Poland?
If you choose to travel by train, you will have a lot of advantages, such as Express InterCity (EIC). Passengers can choose to travel in a non-compartment car or a compartment car and relax in comfortable armchairs. EIC constitutes the perfect means of transport for a demanding passenger travelling both long and short distances. The EIC trains enforce a full-seat reservation policy. Passengers travelling on the Comfort Zone ticket receive a refreshment included in the ticket price: a hot or cold drink (coffee, tea, sparkling or still water or juice), a sweet snack, and a hot meal from a dedicated menu.
EIC trains have cars with facilities for the disabled and non-compartment cars, with places dedicated to transporting bikes or skis.
