How I build my momentum at work and in life:
Every Monday is my writing day. As I wake up in the morning, I think I know what to do: wear my morning gown, eat a healthy breakfast, check my emails and read the local news on the smartphone. And of course, I drink a cup of matcha latte – my favorite drink in the world. ?
Then I say to myself, “I should start writing now.” So, I start my computer. I open a browser and play the background music on YouTube (it’s always romantic jazz without lyrics). I guess I should also prepare a hot chocolate and see if that brings some inspiration to me. So, I get a hot chocolate. Sit at my desk. Open a Word document.
Now I feel my energy level is increasing. I feel much more energized in this moment. And I start typing the information in the header section…. All right. I should be ready. In order to come up with a good title of the new article, I open my Libby app to find some ideas – something that inspires me. Therefore, I looked at the eBooks and audio books that I’ve borrowed on Libby app, and I wonder if I feel inspired enough today.
10 minutes pass. I have to make a decision. Another 10 minutes pass and now I’m typing the title of this article. Things look pretty good. At last, I’m in a flow state. I type 1,000 words within 25 minutes. After editing and proofreading the first article, I start to write the second article. Yes, I can write.

What writing has taught me is exactly what my dating life has taught me over so many years.
The first 200 words do not really matter. Similarly, when you join a dating site, just begin to talk to somebody you are interested in. The 1st message doesn’t really matter that much. Indeed, when you get started, the inertia holds you back because most people don’t like the change. When your brain wants to remain unchanged because the brain wants to keep things as they are right now, remember: the first 20 minutes don’t really matter. Likewise, when you go to a social event, the first conversation doesn’t really matter either. Hence, you just need to start now and momentum will find you as you keep going. Most people don’t find the love of their life on the first day when they just join a dating website. It usually takes a while before they actually meet the right person. That’s absolutely normal.

Don’t overthink things. Just send the first message on a dating site as long as your message is interesting.
