Limiting beliefs that stop you from traveling the world

I’m too busy,” says Dominique, “I don’t even get enough sleep, not to mention travel the world – I have no time for that.”

If you are reading this blog right now, chances are you are interested in having more experiences, so I’ll show you several limiting beliefs that can stop you from making your dreams come true.

  • Limiting Belief 1: I’m too busy with work.

If you live in a developed country and have an employer, you probably have some sort of paid annual leave which can be used to travel the world.

Even if you are self-employed, you can still find time because you decide when you can have a holiday.

The only reason you are too busy to do something is because this thing isn’t important to you. If it’s important to you, you will make time for it.

  • Limiting Belief 2: I can’t afford it.

Again, if you are in a developed country and you have a normal background, you don’t really have a reason for not being able to succeed.

If you can’t afford it now, you should be able to afford it in the future. Find a way to save money. Or figure out a way to make money while traveling the world. For example, I work online as a freelance writer while living in different countries over many years.

Frankly, degrees are overrated. Granted, if you want to be a doctor, lawyer or engineer, you definitely need a degree. However, if you just want to be a self-employed lifestyle entrepreneur or freelancer, you don’t really need a degree. Personally, I have a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, and I used my degrees for many years, but now I’m not using my degrees anymore because I’m self-employed.

  • Limiting Belief 3: I have nobody to travel with.

Go to MeetUp.com and invite like-minded people to join you for a trip, if you have nobody to travel with.

Alternatively, you can just fly somewhere and meet local people there!

Honestly, I love traveling alone because I enjoy “me time”. Yes, when I visit a new place, I go to the restaurant that I like, stay at the hotel I prefer and see places of interest with complete freedom. Of course, I have also had exciting trips with friends and family – it’s just a different type of fun because those trips are about connecting with people in my life while having some shared experiences together.

“Think outside the box. Get out of your comfort zone. You will experience a whole new world.”
