A trip to Australia: discovering unusual jobs

  • Chatting with people can be a real job.

A lady from Sydney has a really fun job – she chats with people from Monday to Friday either online or in person.

No, she isn’t a counsellor or therapist; her job is to chat with people who just would like to find someone to talk to.

Some of her clients prefer chatting with her in a café rather than her office, and that’s perfectly fine.

She enjoys chatting with someone while having a cup of coffee.

How did you find these clients?” I ask her.

I had an ad in the local newspaper,” she explains what happened, “It has worked so well for me. Not everyone wants to chat with a psychologist. These days many people are extremely lonely and they simply want to talk to someone, so I came up with this idea.”

This lady makes a living by chatting with people five days a week.

Before she created this job for herself, she was a high school teacher, but she didn’t like teaching anymore.

However, she still likes talking. Therefore, she created a new and unconventional job for herself.

Apart from chatting with people in person, she also chats with people on the Internet. She says she has met so many people that she wouldn’t have met if she only chats with people offline. Now she is able to chat with individuals from all over the world online.

  • Claudia loves organizing people’s closets.

(Because Claudia has given me the permission to mention her name in this blog post, I have decided to mention her name in this section.)

Claudia is a very intelligent young lady whose job is to organize people’s closets. She says she is a professional organizer. After reading Marie Kondo’s book a few years ago, Claudia has decided to be a professional organizer. But instead of organizing the client’s entire house, she only organizes the client’s closet because Claudia’s passion is fashion.

Some clients not only need Claudia to organize their closets, but also need her to go shopping with them because they would like to refresh their closets.

Because Claudia is in Melbourne, the fashion capital of Australia, she is able to take her clients to the best fashion stores in Australia and show her clients how to select the right items for their closets.

When Claudia was in her 20s, she was the editor of a fashion magazine. Now she is in her 30s, she has decided to be a freelance organizer. She enjoys her freedom and independence as a lifestyle entrepreneur.

My trip to Australia is absolutely enlightening. I feel so inspired that I am thinking about creating a new job for myself as well!

“If you are considering a trip to Australia, you may want to visit the fashion capital of Australia – Melbourne.”
