Overseas holidays: The simple pleasures of picnics

I’ve been to Europe so many times because I have a lot of friends in Europe. There is an interesting hobby that I share with my European friends: We love picnics! During my recent overseas holiday, I had a picnic with several like-minded people in Europe.

  • Picnics are so under-appreciated.

We tend to eat at restaurants all the time whenever we are on holidays, so we really need to appreciate picnics more – it’s fun and flexible!

My recent picnic with friends in Europe is a bit different from all picnics that I had in the past because it’s phenomenal!

First of all, my friend Alice brought a cotton candy machine! It was so exciting. We took turns making cotton candy.

Second, European cheese and crackers are absolutely delicious. Not too sweet & not too salty.

Third, we were drinking sparkling water and lemonade. Very refreshing!

Last but not least, everyone brought fresh flowers to the picnic, and we threw them all over the place. Fresh flowers definitely created an extravagant ambience.

  • 10 things to bring to the next picnic:

I’m thinking about having another overseas holiday next year. I think I’ll go to Europe again because that’s the ultimate secret paradise. I’ll surely invite my European friends to another picnic which will be even better than the one we had, as I’ll add the following elements to the next picnic:

  1. The perfect picnic playlist – music makes the atmosphere more engaging.
  1. A disco ball – we’ll see how beautiful it looks in the sunshine.
  1. Gifts – I’ll bring hairclips, costume jewelry, tinted lip balms and little notebooks.
  1. I’ll get everyone to wear big, long and over-the-top dresses – Why not dress up for the picnic?
  1. Purple paper plates as well as napkins – Life is too short to use white (boring) paper plates and napkins.
  1. Some cute cushions and a soft blanket – comfort is important.
  1. Candy necklaces – let’s combine something sweet with something fun!
  1. Paper and pens – we’ll write anonymous compliments to one another.
  1. Sunglasses and sunscreen – a picnic under the sun requires protection.
  1. A hat or a tiara – hair accessories add extra beauty to the picnic.

“I look forward to the next overseas holiday, for I’ll organize another picnic with my friends in the secret paradise.”
