Savoring every moment during European holidays

I love European holidays because of the elegant ambience that I experience in Europe. In fact, I visit Europe at least once a year because sometimes I need to walk away from my daily routine and do less.

  • How often do you recharge your battery?

If you have a smartphone, you probably recharge its battery quite regularly. Chances are you like the satisfaction when you see the battery is 100% charged.

Now please note that your body and mind can be a battery as well. If you only do lots of work without recharging this battery, you’ll burn yourself out.

Therefore, you would be well-advised to walk away from your work at times and look after yourself. Remember, when your battery is fully charged, you’ll be better at your work! Yes, there is a reason why holidays and weekends exist.

Personally, I prefer European holidays as a way to recharge this battery. Every time I visit Europe, I try exotic cuisine, visit fascinating tourist attractions and buy interesting souvenirs such as creative jewelry and unusual books.

When I come back from a holiday and return to my work, I feel absolutely energetic and I’m so ready for the next work project. Indeed, because I’ve done something amazing just for myself, now I feel that I should spend more time working hard in order to strike the balance! 😊

By the way, you have to notice what’s draining your battery. Do the conversations that you have with your family drain your battery? Perhaps you have to set boundaries with your family. Does a particular friend’s behavior drain your battery? Maybe you need to have higher standards for your social circle.

  • Identify energy leaks in your life.

Almost everyone has some energy leaks in their lives. The most common energy leak is social media. That’s right. Most people use social media these days and unfortunately, social media can be the No. 1 energy leak in modern-day society.

Next time after you spend some time on social media, ask yourself, “Do I feel energized? Or do I feel drained?”

Your honest answer will tell you what to do next. Research shows that the majority of the population actually feel drained by social media, especially for those who have important commitments in life, e.g., jobs and kids.

Of course, your major energy leak isn’t necessarily social media. Maybe it’s the daily commute that you dislike – Should you talk to your boss about working from home? Should you change your job? Perhaps it’s the housemate that you can’t stand – Do you need to speak to your housemate about the noises? Would you like to move out?

“Who is draining your battery? Do they deserve your energy? I hope this blog post has offered some valuable insights that will help you recharge and protect your battery in the future.
