How international travel helps me cope with stress

We live in a culture that is very focused on constantly working on making things better and bigger & collecting a lot of achievements. Consequently, so many people are stressed out in this day and age. Personally, international travel has helped me to cope with stress tremendously.

  • The real reason why people are so busy nowadays:

In modern society, a large number of people are very busy with busyness. Meanwhile, they are highly stressed. But further examination reveals that stress actually makes them feel more alive because they don’t necessarily want to feel the emotions that are underneath the stress, e.g., loneliness and dread.

I’ve decided to face how I truly feel bravely and honestly, so every year I take some time off to enjoy international travel. I write my best articles while traveling overseas because when I’m on holiday, I become the most relaxed version of myself. Interestingly, that’s exactly when I come up with the most inspiring and refreshing ideas that can help many people.

Indeed, when I’m not busy with busyness, I feel my real feelings and emotions. I develop a better understanding of myself as well as how this world works. Therefore, I think differently and write more effectively.

In other words, my trips have made me a more productive writer and a more authentic person. 😊

  • I choose to feel alive in a positive way.

While some people feel more alive when they are stressed in modern-day society, I have decided to try a different approach – I have a list of things that make me feel good and I do them regularly:

  1. Putting my bare feet on the beach and walking on the beach on a sunny morning
  2. Writing blog posts while enjoying beautiful candlelight at night
  3. Eating dark chocolate
  4. Dancing to pop music at home
  5. Traveling alone

Frankly, the more I fill my life with activities that make me feel alive in positive ways, the less I want to rely on stress to make me feel more alive. 😉
